What to Bring to Victory Racing Camp

 

Use an old suitcase, backpack or duffle bag. Do not send the belongings of two campers in the same suitcase.

DO NOT BRING TO CAMP:

Smartphones (and dumb phones, for that matter), radios, CD or MP3 players, TVs, computer games, cell phones, computer tablets, Gameboys, any electronic devices are NOT allowed at camp and WILL BE CONFISCATED and returned at the end of camp. If there is an emergency, we will make sure you can call your folks.

Also, firearms, hair dryers, sheath knives, comic books, alcohol, cigarettes, matches, mosquito coil, food, laser pointers, BB or water guns. T-shirts that are offensive in picture or language to another camper or the camp staff are also not allowed.  These items, if brought, will be collected and available for the camper to pick up at closing.

Campers or parents are not to bring pets or other animals to camp.

Parents and friends are invited to visit the camp on race day and when the camper is picked up. No visitors are allowed during the camp session.  Phone calls to or from a camper should be limited to emergencies and should go through the camp staff number, below.

In case of emergency, the telephone number is 503-828-1872 for the staff cell phone.  Please leave a message if it is not answered immediately.  We will get back to you as soon as possible.

 

The List

Water Bottle!  Hydration is very important for racers and campers alike!  Don't forget one.

Clothing

  • Swimming suit (modest, girls: one piece)
  • Underwear
  • T-shirts

  • Shorts

  • Hiking shoes

  • Bring a sleeping bag, pillow, and bath towel!
  • wash cloth
  • Beach Towel

 

Personal Hygiene

  • comb, brush, mirror
  • soap, shampoo & an instruction manual for how to use them (primarily for junior high boys!)
  • tooth brush and paste
  • deodorant
Equipment / Miscellaneous
  • Flashlights (2 is good. Many are lost)
  • Insect repellent and suntan lotion
  • Pad and pencils/pens
  • Personal first aid kit (band aids, moleskin)
  • 2 sets of spare batteries
  • Other Special Items
